“…for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
Observations:
Again Paul talks about works. “We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” Now he elaborates. God works in us to carry out his will and good purpose. This is how the good works happen. We have to let God work in us. If left to our own devises, our works will not be good. We truly have no ability to be good apart from God.
Application:
Stop working on my own. Allow God to work his good purpose through me. How? Prayer, studying his word, taking time with him, slow, steady and conscience choice to obey rather than walk in my own ways.
Prayer:
God, forgive me for walking in my own way, constantly distracted from you. I want to walk in the Light, to live a life worthy of the calling I have received, to do good works. Please make less of me in me and more of you.
